Andrea Lawler, 74 of Melcher-Dallas, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dallas Christian Church in Melcher-Dallas, Iowa. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dallas Christian Church. Online condolences may be shared at
Andrea Kay Jones was born on March 4, 1943 to Andrew "Andy" and Mildred "Millie" Jones in Knoxville, Iowa. Andrea was raised alongside her sister, Cathy, in Melcher-Dallas. She graduated from Melcher-Dallas High School with the class of 1960.
On March 15, 1969, Andrea was united in marriage to Tim "Buddy Law" Lawler. The couple was blessed with three children: Todd, Michael, and Kelly.
Andrea worked as a secretary for the city of Melcher-Dallas. She also worked as the Melcher-Dallas school board secretary until her retirement. She enjoyed attending all school events, from sporting events to spelling bees. Andrea also enjoyed gardening, hunting for arrowheads, and baking. She made a wonderful apple pie.
Andrea was very involved in her church. In addition to attending the Dallas Christian Church, she worked as the church secretary.
Above all else, Andrea loved spending time with her family. She loved going to watch her husband, "Buddy Law", play with various bands over the years. Andrea was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by so many.
Andrea was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tim "Buddy Law" Lawler; sister, Cathy Tucker; and niece, Rhiannon Tucker. She is survived by her son, Todd Lawler (Suzanne) of Cave Junction, Oregon; son, Michael Lawler (Mandy) of Des Moines, Iowa; daughter, Kelly Taggart (Eddie) of Lacona, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; along with many relatives and friends.
