Anita Louise Locker of Knoxville, Iowa was born February 5, 1938 in Bussey, Iowa to Kenneth and Emma Locker. She graduated from Bussey High School in 1958. That same year, on April 25, 1958 she and Donald Lee Jones were united in marriage. To this marriage, three children were born: Rex, Max and Korena.
Anita spent years at home as a full time housewife and mother all while working at Pella Plastics and for Frundt Hybrid Seed Corn in Pella, Iowa and Pella windows in Pella, Iowa. She enjoyed making crafts, collecting knick knacks and cooking, especially her family famous chicken noodles. She loved all aspects of the human experience, from the peacefulness of watching little birds to the thrills of horror movies. Anita was a woman who loved people. Her love was apparent every time she pulled someone in for a hug. Anita was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister to her family.
She is survived by her children, Rex Jones of Pershing, Iowa and Korena Vos (Steve Shondel) of Chariton, Iowa? her two sisters, Wilma Huff of Newton, Iowa and Dorthy Fenton of Atlantic, Iowa? three grandchildren, Shannon Zubrod of Williamsburg, Iowa, Michelle Knox (Shawn) of Harvey, Iowa, and Keith Jones (Gina) of Pella, Iowa? daughter-in-law, Kathy Jones of Harvey, Iowa; as well as several great-grandchildren.
Anita passed away on September 8, 2016, at her residence in Knoxville, Iowa at the age of 78. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Jones? her son, Max Jones? her parents, Kenneth and Emma Locker? her sister, Janice Kaster? and her grandson, Shaun Jones; and daughter-in-law, Joy Jones.
Graveside service will be at Coal Ridge Cemetery on Friday September 16, 2016 at 11 a.m.
