Services for Donnie Warner were held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Melcher-Dallas. Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery following. Visitation was Monday from 5-7 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Melcher-Dallas. Donnie was born to William and Vera (Wallace) Warner on Feb. 18, 1939, in Knoxville. He received his education from Dallas High School, and graduated in 1957. On June 11, 1966, Donnie was united in marriage to Angela Gotta. Born to this union were two children, Eric and Jill. Donnie was employed at the V.A. Hospital in Knoxville for several years until his retirement in 1994. After his retirement from the VA Hospital, he worked for a short time at Hy-Vee in Knoxville. Donnie enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting activities. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Mower Shop and loved making people laugh. Survivors include his wife, Angela Warner of Melcher, two children; Eric Warner (Kelli) of Waukee, Jill Benz (Eric) of Melcher-Dallas, six grandchildren: Jacob (Carley), Kirsten, Bradlee, Saydi, Allison, Nathan and twin sister, Donna Warner of Tualatin, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Verwers and infant twin brothers.
