Jane Ann Ballalatak of Lovilia died on her 73rd birthday on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016. She was born in Albia to Michael Edwin and Juanita Louise “Chamberlain” Ballalatak. She graduated from Lovilia, class of 1961. She then worked at the Coffee Shop next to the old Albia Hotel. She also worked at Monroe Plastics for over 20 years, Chamberlain's and then the VA Hospital in Knoxville until retirement. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Lovilia. She enjoyed sewing, traveling, and making quilts. She would recycle all types of things. She was a second mother to all her siblings, and all her neighborhood kids always had to stop at her house during Halloween for her bag of goodies. Jane Ann is survived by her siblings, Dennis (Karen Hinote) Ballalatak of Albia, Jeanette (Thomas) Evans of Oskaloosa, Jim (Deb) Ballalatak of rural Albia, Donna (Don) Zoutte of Knoxville, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Kevin and Jerry Ballalatak. Funeral Services were held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 3, 2016, at Sinnott Funeral Home, Gilbert Chapel in Lovilia with Pastor Rick Smith officiating. Burial followed services in Oak View Cemetery in Albia. A funeral luncheon was served following burial at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia. Visitation was on Wednesday, March 2, 2016. It opened to the public at 1 p.m. and family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday evening at Sinnott Funeral Home, Gilbert Chapel in Lovilia.
