Joe Francisco Montalvo was the first child born to Joe Salomon and Debra Jean (Morgan) Montalvo. He was born in Iowa City, Iowa on January 2, 1977. Joey attended school in Knoxville, Iowa and Twin Cedars High School at Bussey, Iowa was then home schooled by his mother, Debbie. At a very young age Joey displayed an adventurous and generous spirit. He traveled freely in the United States seeking opportunities for employment and helping people. No one place did he reside for a very long period of time, but he always maintained contact with his family and was always very generous. He enjoyed thrift shop shopping and decorating. He found enjoyment in dancing and singing, coloring and was fond of animals. He found pleasure in riding bike and was very fond of the camping trips he was able to enjoy with his nephews and nieces. Presently Joey was residing in Des Moines, Iowa where he was employed at the Iowa Events Center as a caterer.
His earthly life of just 39 years ended unexpectedly on October 10, 2016. Joey's memory will fondly be remembered by his father, J. Salomon Montalvo, his brother, Jaime Montalvo and his wife, Darcy, and their three children: Tyler, Taylor and Kenzly, his sister, Janelle, and her husband, David Montalvo-Santiz, and their three children: Quinlyn, Gavin, and Govani, and his sister, Jessie Montalvo, and her son, Jaidyn all of Knoxville, Iowa. Joey also leaves his paternal grandmother, Catalina Olvera of Mexico. He was preceded in death by his mother, Debbie Montalvo, on October 3, 2007; his maternal grandparents, Joe and Alberta (Brees) Morgan and his paternal grandfather Fransisco Montalvo.
Funeral services were held on Friday, October 14, at the Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville.
