Katie Irene Cox

Katie Irene Jimerson Moss Cox was born September 13, 1933 near Unionville, Missouri. Her proud parents were Charles and Nancy Huffaker Jimerson. She was the middle child with 3 siblings older and 3 siblings younger. Her siblings were named James Jimerson, Helen Jimerson Crouse, Charles (Junior) Jimerson, Richard (Dick) Jimerson, Edna Jimerson Bunnell, and Shirley Jimerson Crawford.
She grew up on a farm and had many stories of putting up hay and milking cows with her Dad and cooking great meals and gardening with her Mom. After High School, she left home and married Kenneth Moss. The couple was blessed with 4 children, Charles Franklin, Norma Jean, Karen Louise, and June Elizabeth. They had many years of adventures including running a ranch in Colorado. Kenneth passed away in 1964. She took great care of her kids as a single mother for several years working many jobs and making many friends at those jobs.
In 1969 she married Carl Cox and he loves her children as much as he loved her. They had 2 more children, Carla Renee and Frank Edward. They enjoyed 49 years of love, music, dancing, jam sessions, gardening, canning, and loving their many kids, grand kids, great grandkids and great, great, grandkids. Family was always the most important thing in her life and it shows in how all of her children and grandchildren would try to get together for every holiday and many Sunday dinners.
She is going to be missed by so many people. She leaves a legacy of lasting love that will never end.
A Celebration of Life was held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Knoxville. A private family burial will be held on a later date at Lincoln Cemetery.
Her family that has been waiting in heaven to receive her is her parents, her first husband Kenneth, her brothers Junior, Dick, and James, her sisters Helen and Edna, her son Charlie, and her Granddaughter Misty Shea Burns.
