May 29th, 2017, L. Paul Hugen passed away from a stroke. He was 84 years old living in California. He also suffered from Alzheimer's for three years prior.
Alzheimer's took a lot from this amazing man, but it NEVER took the memory of his true love, Mary Hugen! He asked about her daily. His final words before he passed "Will I be seeing my Mary soon?" His family said yes.
He often said to friends and colleagues the final day of a trip, "Tonight I will be in the arms of my lover!" So tonight and every night he is!
He is survived by his sister Doris Klun, and his four children, Angela, Kenneth, Rachel and Joan.
The family will have a visitation/memorial ceremony in Pella Iowa on July 13th, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 7:30 PM at the: Community Center, 712 Union Street, Pella, Iowa 50219. You are invited to share stories and celebrate Paul's Life the evening before his Burial Ceremony.
On July 14th, 2017 at 10:30 AM we will have a formal service at United Methodist Church, 501 Edwards Street, Bussey, IA 50044. Light lunch will follow.
