Our beloved wife, mother, daughter, grandma, sister, and friend, Laurie Ann Kennedy, of Melcher-Dallas, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, April 22, 2016, at The Comfort House in Pella. Laurie fought a lengthy and courageous battle against cancer. She was 53 years old. Laurie was born on Sept. 4, 1962, in Oskaloosa, the third of seven children born to Dick and Margaret Anderson. Laurie married Jerry on May 1, 1982. The two raised their family in Melcher-Dallas. Laurie loved being a mom and doted on her three sons. She was a devoted daycare provider for nearly 30 years, and was deeply loved by the many children she cared for over the years. Laurie was always happy, with a positive attitude and a smile on her face. Her four grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. Her world revolved around her family, and her favorite thing to do was to spend time with them. Laurie was a friend to everyone in the community, and touched numerous lives with her caring and joyful spirit. Laurie is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Jerry; son, Justin (Amber) and their children Brayden, Lainey, and Kinley; son, Brandon (Shauna Thomas) and their son, Cooper; son, Trent (Amanda Marlin); mother, Margaret Anderson; grandmother, Beulah Anderson; siblings: Donna (Mark) Bishop, Pat Anderson, Matt (Angie) Anderson, CJ (Lisa) Anderson, Kim (Dennis) Rowley, Lisa (Jim) Crozier; and many nieces and nephews.
