Lena Mae "Le" (Brouwer) Still-Larson, age 84 of Knoxville, Iowa died Wednesday morning, September 21, 2016, at the Comfort House in Pella.
Visitation for Le was held from 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville. Le's family and close friends will be gathering one hour prior to funeral service.
Le's funeral service was held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 24, 2016, at the Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville, with Pastor Bruce Reitveld officiating. Burial followed services at the Porter Grove Cemetery.
Lena Mae Brouwer was born February 25, 1932 to Arie and Nellie (Goemaat) Brouwer in Pella, Iowa on a beautiful winter day.
She attended Pella Christian Schools and was a member of the First Christian Church and later she attended Christ's Church in Knoxville.
Le spent time helping on the farm and worked as a telephone operator. She also worked at Shoppers in Pella and Knoxville. Le retired from the V.A. Hospital in 1995 as a printer in Mas.
Le was married to Charles D. Still and Alvin L. Larson, both deceased.
After leaving the farm in 2004, she lived in Knoxville in Oak View Apartments and in 2013 moved to Park Lane Village Assisted Living.
Le enjoyed traveling, Sunday school and volunteering. She also enjoyed sewing, and friends at Park Lane Village and the Christian Church. She also loved her cats, Blu and Blossom.
Le is survived by her sister-in-law, Wilma Brouwer; her uncle Murray Goemaat and wife Donna; step children and step grandchildren. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and long-time friend Su Lewis. Le was preceded in death by her parents, Arie and Nellie Brouwer; her husband Charles D. Still and her husband Alvin L. Larson; three brothers, Gary, Duane, and Donald Brouwer; her sister-in-law Laura Brouwer and great-great nephew Emmett.
Memorials have been established in Le's name to Gideon's Bible Society, Riverside Church or Christ's Church Mission. The Winfield Funeral Home is assisting Le's family with services.
