Marilyn Lina Sinnard, age 88, of Knoxville, died on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Knoxville Rehab Center of Knoxville.
A funeral service for Marilyn was held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville. Following services, burial will be held at Graceland Cemetery of Knoxville.
Visitation for Marilyn was at 4:00 P.M. on Friday, May 27, 2016 at the Winfield Funeral Home. Marilyn's family will be present Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
Marilyn was born July 11, 1927 in West Amana, Iowa to the parents of Emil Miller and Johanna Schoenfelder. Marilyn attended and graduated from Amana High School, and after high school, attended AIB College of Business in Des Moines, Iowa.
On September 30, 1948, at the RLDS Church in Knoxville, Marilyn and Gene Sinnard were united in marriage. They shared almost 55 years of marriage together and were blessed with four children; Phyllis, Nancy, Jeff and Randy. Gene passed away on May 17, 2004.
Marilyn was an excellent cook, and worked a few years at Bailey's Doughnut Shop. She cooked many years for the Monday Morning Kiwanis and was an honorary member. She was known for her delicious rice crispy bars.
Marilyn is survived by her son, Jeff (Lori) Sinnard of Knoxville; her daughter, Phyllis Wilhelm of Independence, MO; five grandchildren, Sarah Gerber, Levi Sinnard, Adam Sinnard, Matthew Wilhelm, and Emilie Garivay; and seven great-grandchildren.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; her parents, Emil and Johanna (Schoenfelder) Miller; her son, Randy Sinnard; her daughter, Nancy Sinnard; her son-in-law, Fulton Wilhelm; her grandson, Johnathan Sinnard; and her great-granddaughter, Hailey Gerber. She is also preceded in death by her brother, George Miller, and her sister, Emilie Graesser.
Services are entrusted to the Winfield Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Pella or the Community of Christ Church. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.winfieldfh.com.
