Roy Randle Chambers was born March 3, 1931 in Pershing, Iowa the son of Eddie and Zella (Light) Chambers.
At the age of 17 he enlisted in the United States Army. Randle served his country during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in November of 1951, having attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. On March 3, 1952 he was united in marriage to Alice Berneil Vande Kamp at the First United Methodist Church in Knoxville. Randle drove a truck for several years. In June of 1960 he purchased a tire shop and named it Randle's OK Tire. He owned and operated the shop until 1979. Randle sold cars for Ron Perdock for a short time, before taking a job with 3M. He retired from 3M in September of 1992.
