Terry Owen Bonnett

Terry Owen Bonnett, age 72 of rural Bussey, Iowa died Friday afternoon, October 7, 2016 at the Serenity House in Oskaloosa.
Visitation for Terry was held from 11:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M., Monday, October 10, 2016, at the Winfield Funeral Home in Knoxville.  Terry's family greeted friends Monday evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Funeral services for Terry were held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at the Bussey United Methodist Church in Bussey.
Terry was born in Abilene, Texas, on February 3, 1944, the eldest son of Owen Cleo and Cloris Ellis (Trinkle) Bonnett.  Terry was raised in rural Bussey and he graduated from Twin Cedars High School, Class of 1962.  After high school Terry attended and graduated from Northeast Missouri State, Class of 1965.
In May of 1965 Terry and Pamela Sue Wignall were united in marriage.  They shared over 51 years of marriage before Terry's passing and were blessed with three boys: Shawn, Shane, and Nick.
Terry worked for 33 years with the State of Iowa.  For many years he was the Workforce Administrator in Knoxville.
Terry enjoyed being a husband and a father.  He was a youth baseball coach for his children and a grandson.  He was a former school board member for Twin Cedars and he was a member of the NRA.  Terry was a lifetime outdoorsmen.  He fished and hunted every year and took annual fishing trips to Canada and Elk hunting in Colorado.
Terry is survived by his wife of 51 years Pam Bonnett; three sons, Shawn Bonnett and Tina, Shane Bonnett and wife Michelle, and Nick Bonnett and wife Sara; seven grandchildren, Tyler and wife Abby, Lolly, and Sydney Veenstra, Colton Bonnett, Hannah Bonnett, Lily Bonnett and Carter Bonnett. Terry is also survived by two brothers, Craig Bonnett and wife Judy and Lee Bonnett.  He was preceded in death by his parents Owen and Cloris Bonnett and his sister Dixie Fee.
A memorial has been established in Terry's memory to the Bussey Little League Baseball Association.  The Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville is assisting Terry's family with arrangements.  Condolences may be sent to www.winfieldfh.com.
