Wilma Fern Fisher, age 89, passed away Wednesday evening, February 28, 2018 at West Ridge Specialty Care in Knoxville.
A visitation for Wilma will be held from 12:00 P.M. until service time on Monday, March 5, 2018 at the Winfield Funeral Home in Knoxville. Wilma's family will be greeting friends during this time.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 5, 2018, also at the Winfield Funeral Home, with Pastor Brent Hanna officiating. Burial will follow services at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville.
Wilma was born on June 17, 1928 in Marion County, Iowa; the daughter of Ephie E. and Christeena May (Parker) Davis. Wilma grew up in the Melcher-Dallas area and graduated from Dallas High School with the Class of 1946.
She later went to work at Rolscreen Company in Pella, where she met Raymond Fisher. Wilma was united in marriage to Raymond on August 28, 1950 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.
To this union they were blessed with two children Michael and Susan.
Wilma left Rolscreen to be a homemaker, after her family was raised she worked as an aide at the Marion County Care Facility for over 15 years, retiring in 1993.
Wilma enjoyed traveling, gardening, and attending the Sprint Car Races in Knoxville, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Wilma was a member of the First United Methodist Church for over 50 years.
Wilma is survived by her son, Michael Fisher; her daughter, Susan (Keith) Masa; two grandchildren, Robert Ryan (Laura) Mackey and Amanda Mackey; four great grandchildren, Hailey , Raymond, and Jacob Mackey and Madilynn Hartman; all of Knoxville. She is also survived by one sister, Mary Nolte of Dallas; along with several nieces and nephews.
Wilma is preceded in death by her husband of over 66 years, Raymond Fisher; parents, Ephie and Christeena Davis; one brother, Ray Davis, and three sisters, Dorothy Furgison, Alberta Nelson, and Edna Downard.
