Kathleen J Riggen
Kathy Mulcahy Riggen (Spike, KK, Kathy K) 66,currently of Hutto, Texas previously of Knoxville, Iowa received her angel wings on Thursday September 5th, 2019 after a long, devastating battle with dementia surrounded by her family.
Kathy was born on October 11, 1952 to Robert and Patricia (Farrell) Mulcahy in Kankakee, Illinois where she attended Bishop Macnamara. Kathy was united in marriage to Larry Ownbey on 12-13-1971 and from this union a son was born Robert (Rob) Ownbey. She was married again on 4-25-1980 and two daughters Summer Brindza and Amber Willer were born from this union. Robert and Kathy were married for 38 years.
She was always there for everyone that needed her and would give the shirt off her back for anyone! She always knew how to take a joke and make everyone laugh, and she loved to sing and dance. Kathy loved her family and was a devoted mother. She would light up whenever any of her family walked into her room. She stayed positive all the way to the end, still puckering up for kisses and to say "I love you".
Kathy is survived by her husband Robert Riggen of Knoxville, IA, son Rob Ownbey (Alicia) of Kenosha, WI, daughters Summer (Jason) Brindza of Hutto, TX, Amber (John) Willer of Ankeny, IA. Four grandchildren Mackenzie Smith, Payton Ownbey, Lucas Willer and Marek Brindza. Her brother Michael Mulcahy and sister in law Jo Lynn Mulcahy and nephew Connor (Tara) Mulcahy. She was preceeded in death by her father Robert Mulcahy, Mother Patricia Mulcahy and Brother Robert Mulcahy. Also her favorite dog "Missy".
We will miss her spunk and will have a celebration of her beautiful life in Knoxville, Iowa in the spring of 2020.

Kathy was always, and will always be my favorite cousin! (Mike, you’re 2nd) Whenever we were together we always had the best time! When we were young, Kathy would always want to sing and dance! She taught me an entire dance routine to one of her favorite songs, start to finish!!! She was the best ❤️ I will never, never forget her. She will be forever in my heart.
